The SPE R&D&I Brazil Technical Committee had the excellent opportunity to conduct a technical visit to COPPE / UFRJ, at the invitation of the Technology and Innovation Directorate and the Directorate of the Low Carbon Technology Solutions Center.
During the visit, we had the chance to learn about the Subsea Technology Laboratory (LTS), a national reference in applied research and the development of solutions for offshore engineering and technologies focused on the energy transition.
We would like to extend our special thanks to Marysilvia Costa and Alfredo Renault (COPPE / UFRJ) for the invitation and for the ongoing partnership in strengthening innovation in the Oil & Gas industry, considering the challenges and opportunities related to decarbonization and sustainability.
We also extend a special thank you to Camila Farias (Shell) for her organization and leadership in making this activity possible.
This interaction reinforces the fundamental role of collaboration between industry, academia, and research centers in maximizing the impact of R&D&I investments and accelerating the development of technological solutions for the future of energy.
The following representatives of the SPE R&D&I Brazil Technical Committee took part in this visit: Luis Pires (Petrobras), Daniela Hartmann and Mayara S. (CNPC Brasil), Constantino Nino, MSc, PMP® (SPE Macaé Section), and Julia Castro (4Subsea).
