We held the 3rd 2026 meeting of the SPE Brazil R&D&I Technical Committee (https://spepdibrasil.org/), this time at the Shell Brasil office in Rio de Janeiro.

The meeting brought together representatives from the operators participating in the committee (Petrobras, Shell, TotalEnergies, Galp Brasil, CNPC Brasil, PETRONAS, Equinor, and Repsol Sinopec Brasil), as well as directors from the SPE Macaé Section, to discuss strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the Research, Development & Innovation (R&D&I) ecosystem within Brazil’s Oil & Gas industry. Topics included the #InovaTec2026 initiative (https://lnkd.in/dpiRyszN), which seeks to foster greater integration among industry, universities, research institutions, and technology companies.

We would like to extend our special thanks to the Shell Brasil R&D&I team for their warm welcome and hospitality, and especially to our committee member, Camila Farias, for hosting the group and leading the technical and strategic discussions throughout the meeting.

The discussions reinforced the committee’s commitment to driving technical collaboration among operators, fostering applied innovation, and supporting the development of solutions aligned with industry challenges, energy transition, and sustainability goals.
