We are a technical committee for Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I), composed of representatives from oil and gas operating companies working in Brazil. Our purpose is to integrate technical efforts and share knowledge applied across the lifecycle of E&P assets.
Our committee was created as an independent and complementary initiative to other sector forums, with an exclusive focus on the technical and operational aspects of R&D&I investments, under the institutional support of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) — Macaé Section and Brazil Section.
We believe that the industry’s challenges can and should be addressed collaboratively. To support this, we provide a neutral and safe space where operators can exchange lessons learned, best practices, discuss opportunities for improvement, and leverage the results of projects with universities, ICTs, and research centers.
Our structure is led by professionals with solid technical experience in the sector and is organized through monthly meetings, specialized working groups, and an annual technical workshop or seminar. Our goal is to highlight the concrete results of R&D&I investments and bring the industry closer to the scientific community.
More than a committee, we are a network of engineers, researchers, and technical leaders committed to strengthening collaborative innovation in Brazil’s energy sector.
To foster technical collaboration among oil and gas operators in Brazil by promoting structured exchange of lessons learned, best practices, and opportunities for improvement in R&D&I projects, with an emphasis on the direct application of solutions across the E&P lifecycle.
To be recognized as the leading collaborative technical committee among operators in Brazil — a reference in technical integration, generation of applied knowledge, and value creation from R&D&I investment in the oil and gas sector. Our goal is to build a high-level technical network that contributes directly to technological advancement and the competitiveness of the national industry.
Our committee is grounded exclusively in technical principles, aligned with the mission of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) to disseminate scientific and practical knowledge for advancing petroleum and gas engineering. Unlike forums with regulatory, institutional or political scope, our purpose is to create a safe and neutral environment where operators’ technical knowledge exchange is at the center of discussions.
We do not address commercial, strategic, or legal matters — our work focuses entirely on sharing applied knowledge and continuously improving engineering practices in the E&P sector. Here, the focus includes field lessons learned, project management, R&D&I methodologies, technological innovation, operational efficiency, practical project results with universities and research centers, tool development, real-world testing, and all engineering and science-applied aspects.
Our exclusive technical focus ensures the initiative’s independence, credibility, and longevity, allowing operators to collaborate transparently, always based on data, best practices, and collective learning.
To promote technical integration among oil and gas operators in Brazil, with SPE’s institutional support, in order to maximize R&D&I results through the exchange of applied knowledge, collaboration on common challenges, and recognition of technical results within the industry and scientific community.
